Orange Lodge Twelfth Of July Parade, Northern Ireland Poem by Raymond Farrell

Orange Lodge Twelfth Of July Parade, Northern Ireland

Who is this god
That marches with those
Who flaunt their majority?
By antagonizing others
Beating drums and waving banners?
Is their's a god of love?
Does their god suffer as they do
From xenophobia and paranoia?
Does he rant and rave mindless inanities?
Is their Promised Land
Always attained at the expense of others
Who can be driven out at will
And treated like the offscouring of the earth?
As they draw closer to their god
Why are they less inclined to share?
Who is this god
But the figment of some twisted imagination
Fuelled by hate and greed?
