Ooty Poem by Saroj Padhi

Ooty

Rating: 5.0

As I entered the labyrinth
of your serpentine body
soaked in musky clouds,
drenched in drizzles
cascading from your neon-lit hair,
trapped in a trance
by ooze from wombs of flowers
swarmed by an intimate dark,
I didn't know how to hug you,
hold you in my arms;

thrilled by the magic of your touch
I fell in love with each tree of the Nilgiris
irrespective of their names
in the garden of your moist love
bulbuls danced across
the pavers like day dreams,
eagles flapped wings over head
with an invitation
to lose self in the mystic jungles;

I smelt each new bud and bloom
in your enchanting body,
rolled on your grassy bed
like a happy dog,
fluttered around like a happy butterfly,
sipped the pegs of peace
from pines like a blind bee;

I'm still there after days and months
during lone moments hugging thee
in fantasy smelling pines in all jungles
here I'm your exiled lone honey bee.
