Only Lies Poem by E.A. England

Only Lies

your smile won her over
you caught her by surprise
she should have seen that all along
your words were only lies

you told her you were broken
the perfect weak disguise
then drew her in, and pushed her out
a snake with bright blue eyes

when truth did come a' knocking
and it came time to cut the ties
she shakes her head and lets it out
he'll never hear her cries

she knows it's not the last time
but once again she'll rise
she's far too smart for loving he
whose words are only lies
