One Shot Poem by March Nicks

One Shot

Time is fleeting, our days depleting
We have to get this right

Polar bears are starving,
the rise in temperature is alarming

Bees no longer pollenate
While try to learn to tolerate

There is not time to debate
Over which party should dominate

Our grandchildren will not be able to breathe
As we continue to mine what is underneath

We must listen to Mother Earth
While we still have time to prove what we're worth

This is our chance
This is our time

We must make a difference
It's our only chance at any kind of deliverance

We have one shot
