One Moment Poem by Randy McClave

One Moment

One moment you are breathing
And then in the very next moment you're not,
One moment you're cool and relaxed
And then in the next moment you're burning hot.
One moment you could had been saved
Then in that one moment your soul was for sale,
But, you decided to wait a little bit longer
Then in that very next moment you're burning in hell.

One moment you owe a debt
Then the very next moment that debt could be erased,
That one moment you decided to keep the debt a bit longer
That obligation that you owe you see as a waste.
One more moment you then decided to ponder
So, now you just give more broken promises,
You hope that they will forget your debt owed
Then in that moment your lenders become doubting Thomas's.

One moment you are forever all alone
Because no one loves or trusts or wants you,
Everyone you knew you had used and lied to and stole from
Then in the next moment you realized what you put them through.
One moment you are in sadness and remorse
From all the wrongs and hates you carried in your basket,
One more moment you then decided that you would wait to empty it out
Then in that one moment. you're in your casket.

One moment you're preparing to apologize
For all the evil and sins that you had done and said,
As you prepare you now wished that you had apologized sooner
Then the very next moment you lay dead.
One moment you were very sorry
You finally sought absolution and you wanted to be forgiven,
But, you instead had waited a moment to long
In this moment now you are no longer with the living.
