Sally, this is one of your best poems in my opinion. Your vivid description of the land and personification of the Nile (its cheek - great!) , with a long view of Egypt's history - made me feel I was looking down from the sky at the land, viewing its history and its hopes. Great word pictures and a grand, loving panorama of Egypt's fascinating, exotic history. I'll read this one again to enjoy your gift of language.

And the Sahara that slept to the sound of the Nile's stories Told its own stories of love and peace that maintain Egypt's prosperity But all Egypt's stories start… once upon a time in heaven I have seen it all now! ! ! very seasoned offering hugs
