Once upon a poem...
The word time was lost.
It had to be quickly found,
Retrieved at any cost.
For children's fairy tales,
Would never truly read right.
Without time's introduction,
So sad would be their plight.
All the magical kingdoms,
Then hunted high and low.
All seeking the word time,
With no good news to bestow.
Knights allied with dragons,
Searching so far and wide.
Princesses couldn't marry princes.
Leaving many so teary eyed.
For without the word time,
Fables would lose their magic.
And for all children everywhere,
They would read sad and tragic.
Next day all the many kingdoms,
Merrily rejoiced and loudly cheered.
Witches and wizards happily danced,
For the word time had reappeared.
I have been away on holiday,
Even time needs a small break.
And looking at all your faces,
Perhaps I made a big mistake.
But while I was far away,
I have some tales to tell.
Of adventure and excitement,
And great escapades as well.
Now gather round and listen,
Of my holiday pantomime,
And I'll start at the beginning,
Once upon a time...
Excellent poem Shaun...I thoroughly enjoyed reading it...very clever indeed! It's definitely a Danny The Champion of The World inspired 10 from me!

Thank you Dominic for your superb comments. Glad a world class poet as your good self enjoyed it. And I dedicated it to the master. The late, great and so sadly missed Roald Dahl. Thanks again and take care.
