In the warmth of a summer sunset
I sat idle on the sea shore
Looking at the grey enormity
That heaved and swelled in turn

For fun I scribbled my name on the sands But a wave came crashing against the shore And the very next moment washed it away Was it here or there, I had scrawled my signature I don’t know. It has vanished leaving no trace......so meaningful and impressive. To understand the nature is too difficult. A well executed poem is amazingly shared.10

A wonderful and powerful write on life. The penultimate and final stanzas convey a meaningful message that we are just passing, so short lived that we could disappear anytime into thin air. Beautifully written.10+++++

Rose Marie, you have got the right message that I wanted to convey..... the transience of life! Sea has always been a thing of great fascination for me and I have written many poems on the sea! Thank you lovely poet for your vibrant and powerful observations. I always appreciate your language free of errors!

The vastness of the sea and its activity always hold us spellbound. The fluffy waves that tease the shore are sight to behold. The great Poetess vividly depicted the.magical beauty and wonders of the sea. Superb imagery which is always a trademark of the Poetess ' pen took the reader at close range with the sea.

My eyes stretched far into the horizon Bound by a vault of azure sky.................I am stuck there to contemplate what precious beauty your pious poetic soul has captured! An excellent poem!

A quite characteristic schedule on the sea shore. But a poetic mind only can perceive the meaninglessness of futile toil and frets for being counted. Nicely dealt with. Full 10 for Valsa

Valsa George, Huge oceans's splendor is not dependent on us for anything; it simply is. We are the admirers and observers. You have used great definition to explain how we are so transient. Our names, our presence- here then gone. It is good every so often to be reminded to not take ourselves to seriously for life is precious. thanks much for this great revealing message of human reality. bless you much! kathy

The activity and the nature of sea described beautifully. Then see-saw of casino and washing away of a name written on the sand on a sea shore shows the transitory nature of our life. How transient is man’s life on Earth / How very tiny we are / Set against the vastness of the sea

On The Sea Shore is a poem along with all the paraphernalia of the required devices needed to compose a Sea poem...writing the names on sand, building castles, and of course the sunset........Some excellent phrases are special for their usage in the write up...You can stay away from the crowd but sitting on the shore, you get closer to life, more than ever before...The Sea is a symbol of life, carrying the philosophy of life, a source of food, flow and lessons... Great Work, beautiful poem....

Set against the vastness of the sea In the wide expanse of life, as on a sea shore We scribble our names to stay But Alas! Some unknown hands wipe them away Truly said, How tiny are we in this world.

Wow...I must say it was a powerful write......Very beautifully have you proceeded towards the ending, you don't rush towards it as if your heart longs to write more and more of those subtle everyday happenings. A beautiful write, mam.

Nature is eternal as the sea in all it's different moods will embrace the sea shore, as we watch the circle of life from a distance pondering on it's mysteries and the surging flow of time that will not wait for anyone, you bring the reality of life as a puzzle but also a beautiful gift! Outstanding write!

Reading the poem transported me to the scene. I sensed within me the sound of waves hitting the boulders, the splash of sea water, felt the wind...it was enthralling experience! You had captured the scene so beautifully and crafted that into words. I always loved the sea and I thank you for this lovely poem! Score 10 ++

I enjoyed the descriptive imagery of this poem, and the analogy at the end with reference at our ephemeral life. Beautiful write!

Very recently, i have traveled seashore of tamilnadu..... from Muttam, Pozhiyur, Nagapatnam, Velankanni, karakkal and Thanjavur this poetess touches sat away from the crowd In a cool squire of quiet Inhaling the briny air And enjoying the foam and spray My mind then was light as that of a child That plays on the sea shore, making sand castles

If only everyone could read this lovely poem and learn from it. I could taste the sea and see the dolphins and that was worth far more than riches.
