On The Island Of Salt Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

On The Island Of Salt

The region of salt,
The Island of salt,
With the muse of plantains and beans;
But, put on your Jeans for the work.

The muse of life!
Three days through the desert;
But, put on your Jeans for the Job.

Life!
Living on salt;
With the caravan of salt as seen on the desert,
In Ethiopia.

Hut, nut, put, but, gut, abut, rut, cut, out, brut, about, shut, glut, tut!
Selling eggs alonf the line to make a living;
And like pepper added to salt in your soup.

The muse of life!
To understand the ways of salt;
The muse of love!
To have the knowledge of salt;
And, working on the Island of salt.
