On The Death Of Liam Payne Poem by Denys E. W. Jones

On The Death Of Liam Payne

Rating: 5.0

I know, girls you're upset
By news of Liam's death.
Indeed it was a shock,
A cruel, heart-wrenching loss.

But now please dry your tears,
And open wide your ears.
Hear what I have to say,
To help you on your way.

This life sometimes brings joy,
But other days bring grief.
At some things you can laugh,
While others make you weep.

The road in parts is flat,
But often it is steep.
There's many things you'll lose,
And only few you'll keep.

In store lies greater pain,
Than losing Liam Payne.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this for my mostly female first year students. Many of them were, or still are, fans of One Direction, and were thus quite upset by Liam Payne's death.
