On The Altar Poem by Colonel Muhamad Khalid Khan

On The Altar

On The Altar
Poetry is in my blood and pain is in my soul
This eternal gift has been bestowed on me
Words come to me as angels with sweet goal
The life my love is like vast green wild sea
Destiny dictates, destination is on other end
I have to sail through all this phase with difficulty
I am man of principle so I never ever bend
Life is a strange phenomenon with its subtlety
I am a traveller to cover the distances to see
My fate or fortune is well written but not shown
So I have to have my own perception as it be
I do not know anything and whatever is not known
What I know I have to follow the set of rituals
Through which I can steer my boat in the water
This world is full of just pseudo-intellectuals
I am a helpless and hopeless soul on the altar
