Your poem affirms a truth I believe all poets accept: love and poetry are completely entwined, pull a thread from that ball of love/poetry, you may get a love thread or a poetry thread or maybe both tied around each other. Just before going into the world war which killed him, Rupert Brooks wrote a wonderful poem of gratitude, THINGS I LOVE. He made his peace. And near the end of his life, Wallace Stevens started a poem with the line WHAT IS THERE TO LOVE THAT I HAVE NOT LOVED? Amen to that! These thoughts came to me after reading your poem. Good poem = good thoughts.
