On Getting Old Poem by Richard Wlodarski

On Getting Old

Rating: 5.0

Tell me about the memories
I have forgotten about...
Tell me about the laughter
That my smiles had missed...
Tell me about the words
That were left unspoken...
Tell me about the love
That Love forgot about...
Tell me about the life
That quickly passed me by...
Tell me about life...
Moving into life...
And death...escaping us all...

This one goes to myfavourites, Richard. There are a few ways to read this verse. One suggests aging. Another has death escaping, running, evading....Each reading leaves a distinct impression. A great work, Richard.

While youth is spent on hope, old age dwells in remembrance. Lovely portrayal of life at old age with its joys and happiness. Thanks for sharing Richard.
