Olive Ridley the vulnerable sea turtle
Coming to our pretty land in mass
On January onwards every year
To welcome a new generation
By laying eggs at beach of Odisha
At Rushikulya River Bank
And at Gahirmatha tidal mouth.
The scene is as good as Mahakumbh
Of huge turtles at Odisha coast and river mouths.
It is irony of fate that
No turtle will wait for hatching the eggs so laid by them
With a good hope for emerging tiny hatchlings.
Crores of tiny turtles are moving
Immediately after hatching from eggs
Towards the blue tides of Bay of Bangle
With an eternal call to survive
By facing lots of pain
To conceal the cruel eyes of predators.
Our promise to save them intact
with joint hands of nature lovers
Till entering into the sacred sea.
