Rating: 5.0

A man on grey side of his long green age,
With wiser ways and values he preserves,
Can scarce claim still to be wisdom-filled sage;
And oft wears a face he seldom deserves.

This is a well crafted sonnet. The message is original and unique. Age does not akways bestow wisdom. Many an ilder oerson act as if they are wise simply because they are older. A great tome

For, each age has a blank canvas to paint...And man wears this painted page on visage.... Beautiful lines from a wonderful and wisdom filled poem.

Thanks for the kind words... '...discover what is in the Socrates and Aniruddha Pathak s' baggage..' Socrates and me in one sentence? Thanks but I'd feel very uneasy for the affront...

'Well experienced poet...., thanks, but is not it a pseudonym for an old man? Old age of body comes, not in our hand, but not of and in the mind, thanks for all the feedback dear poet.

I appreciate very much the message in this poem. Not automatically, old age makes us wise. Far too many of us, have stopped growing, have given up our hunger for the Truth with a capital T too early. I loved to read this thought provoking poem

Righteous morals, yes. Mahabarata said, there is no royal assembly without old people; no old that talk of no dharma, no dharma that talks of no truth, there is no truth....and so forth. Thank you Edward Louis.

Each age has a blank canvass to paint. So very well said. Life reveals its secret slowly at every age. Most of us are able to grasp only when that time has passed. A very thoughtful poem.
