Old Age Poem by Erick Sunaryo

Old Age

Why ask for old age?
What do you hope for?
A happier facet of life?
A child with candy is much happier.
There is no good advertisement for old people.
Tell me what you see.
Drugs are the only sure thing.
To suspend life with less pain
While your body crumbles
Not able to walk or even stand
That is an old age we are facing.
Maybe you have money.
But for what?
Family scatter, leaving you alone.
While sleeping in the hospital
Waiting for none surely helps.
Except for the gentle hand of death
