Oh Little Bird Poem by Jennifer Birchall

Oh Little Bird

Rating: 4.0

Oh little bird I kept you safe
In a cave of branches and leaves
With my love and warmth you grew
Too big for your shell, into two it cracked

Oh little bird under my wing you were nurtured and fed
Sang the sweetest songs when you found your voice
Time gave you courage to take small flights
Failing sometimes, falling to the ground

Oh little bird It didn't hold you back
You started to experiment, go further
Taking bigger risks each time, until
Your feathers became tough, you strong

Oh little bird it's time to go
You are ready, from your nest fly high
Soar as far and wide your wings will take you
Into the sky above the rainbow

Beautiful imagery. Feeling of sadness and loss. Hoping and wishing for a safe and sacred place to stay, but desire to fly to destiny is too strong. Such an excellent portray of emotions.10+++++. Wonderful poem. Don't ever loose your vision.
