This is a very very old poem, (always has been one of my favorite poems) when I first heard it, it was in the late 60's or early 70's. I believe this poem comes from the 18th century or older than that. It has an unknown author. This poem is very famous and a lot of people already know about this poem and I grew up in the 60's, it was very famous then.
I am 68 years old and learned this poem when I was 8 years old. It was not written by Lateef Jan Afridi Ab.latifjan in 2009.
You are so right... I am 72 and learned it when I was very young. the author I believe is unknown
I heard this poem years ago when our pastor used it as part of his sermon.I have been looking for it for quite some time. This poem speaks to me and reminds me that we should be greatful for what we have and stop complaining about what we dont. We should not envy others but instead count our blessings.
my grandmother wrote this in 1963 and decided to look it up as she had it memorized and here it is wow decades later and she still knows it by heart.
