Oh Dear Mother Poem by Winter Moyer

Oh Dear Mother

Has your hand ever extended fully, to us
To let us climb into blissful safety
When it feels as such, it is but for a moment
Not enough time even, to hold it

Oh dear mother
Why do you ask us to toil through troubles
To trudge through icy winds
To limp through muddy swamps and bogs
Never letting us crawl to safety

I'd like for once to be truly held
Not just to lie in your radiant glow
But to end the fires in our minds
To end the feelings of our tremendous sorrows

Oh dear mother

Oh dear mother

Oh

Dear

Mother
