Oh be careful what you wish for,
For it one day maybe simply granted.
There is always a heavy price to pay,
To leave you so very very disenchanted.
I speak to you from beyond my grave,
Of that dark day my wish came true.
I simply wished to see my future,
Just a look a glimpse a sneak preview.
And what I saw totally horrified me,
A gravestone with my name inscribed,
All this so cruelly revealed yesterday,
The day on which I died.

A suspenseful poem with an unhappy ending. Unlike Ebenezer Scrooge, there was no Ghost of Christmas Future to rescue you, and send you back. A well-written grim poem.
Thank you for your kind and generous comment Practicing Poetess. Your poems are spellbinding and so thought-provoking. And I thank you again.
