Of Indian men who can be very nice

There, my husband said that Indian men do have a preference for white women
Back in my days of youth, I would have said sarcastically, we share the same feeling,
But now, I happen to be a more mature woman who is assured of her own beauty and figure
And the irony of it is that I don't have many admirers around any more
And it is true of Indian and Canadian men that they are really generous hearted
Hence, I cannot be disloyal to these men
What is intriguing about white women
Is that they were pioneers in the feminist movement
And thus they have earned men's respect for standing upto themselves
Their skin is most certainly beautiful but rich beige or brown skin is equally beautiful
And for every Margaret Thatcher, there is an Indira Gandhi, I would like to say
Or a Kim Campbell but it is an irrevocable fact that life's
Everyday travails bogs the white women down less
Or on the first day of 2020, I should rejoice after a night of revelry
In a Latin American restaurant eating chips and guacamole downing a pineapple margarita
And eating aripas and a veggie bowl
And then welcoming the New Year in Horseshoe Tavern
Listening to the opening acts of The Good Brothers AND Minus Five,
For the celebrated band of the Sadies
The acoustics were very good since it was a small place
And the music heralded a happy and prosperous new year for all of us.
