The sky growls in pain
against the skyscrapers
screeching through windows
scattering dust and leaves
along the city roads.
life pauses
for some in anguish
for others a reminder
of sorrows.
the wind eases
against the darkening sky
while the clouds gather
for a night of thunder
as morning breaks
the trees whimper
branches broken off
electric wires
lay tangled and in tatters
in remembrance
of the vengeful anger
of a monsoon tempest.
