PH deleted b u m and s h i t from my earlier submissions! Bri's Response: I did not come on my own mum; I was in you because your drunken B U M of an uncle raped you against your will.. It's too bad you had no birth control pill. Your bably was thrilled, No cares had it. Your body supplied food & took away its S H I T. It never got to taste how life outside might be, with the good AND the bad. 'Mum' chose to be free. bri (:

Thank you Bri Edwards for taking this poem to your Showcase. The credit goes to original poet Dr.Antony Theodore. He has dealt the subject of abortion from a moral and religious point of view and done it so touchingly. As you pointed out 'abortion ' is a complex issue and mother can not be blamed solely for this.If it is morally incorrect action, in my view, the father of the child is more to blame .The poem raises so many pertinent questions, regarding rightness of abortion.
translations are a boon to readers. but Why? didn't God, in all HER wisdom, give everyone the same language? oh, yeah, i think a bible story explains all that! it is a very well-told story, though it Does take sides on a very controversial subject. perhaps a showcase appearance in 2019; feel free to remind me! ! ! bri (:
A thought provoking poem! (10)
Odia language has many similarities with Bengali language as we have many common words.I wish that Odia translation Site will be developed soon. Odia literature is very rich, but it is not getting due recognition as these are not translated into English. It is also a fact that this translation is difficult task so as to bring the beauty of Original work.
My sincere thanks to you Akhtar Jawadji.I feel so proud that my language Odia has come to the notice of world poets like you.But I am sorry that I find no genuine website that translates Odia language to English or Hindi.Though there are Odia typing sites which I use now to post in Odia, that too I find insufficient to type many combined words/letters(Yuktakshar) (part-1) .
This poem My Tora Santana Mas has been so touchingly and accurately translated in oriya (odiya) language from English poem I Am Your Baby Mum composed by Dr. Antony Theodore. I have read in both language. ଖୁବ୍ ସୁନ୍ଦର ଭାବରେ ଆପଣ ଅନୁବାଦ କରିଛନ୍ତି ଯାହାକି ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆକର୍ଷଣଣୀୟ ଓ ମନଛୁଆଁ (hrudayasparsi) ହୋଇଛି।ମୂଳ ଲେଖାର ବାସ୍ତବତା ରହିଛି। Many thanks for sharing.
My gratitude and hearty thanks to you Poet Sri Kumaramani Mahakul for reading my poems of both English and Odia language and giving your valuable opinion on them.Dr. Antony Theodore's poem 'I AM YOUR BABY MUM' is a very touching poem on the theme of 'abortion' and is among the top 500 poems.I am glad that I have translated it to my mother tongue 'Odia'.
Please bear with some spelling error that I could not rectify with the available software. '1- 'Nisthura 2-Ashrupata
oops! ! ! in my previous comment, in line 5 of my responsive poem, the first two words should be Your baby. bri (:
