Ode To Victor Hugo (55) 'the Miserable' hollow

By Freeyad Ibrahim

Fantine passed a restless night
Coughing incessantly
With a high fever
Her face has lost brightness
Her eyes were hollow and vacant
Almost lifeless
But at moments they would light up
And shine like stars
Twinkling from height
It would seem that
as darkness approaches
as the soul crouches
A light from Heaven shines
for those who are about
to leave the brightness
of earth,
and to her who
to Heaven's will resigns
