Ode To Victor Hugo (8)
The Miserable-hearts and tongues
Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim
*
Bishop Myriel familiarized himself
With the dialects of the people
This helped to bring him close to them
He was at home at the peasant's hut
And in the mountains
He expounded great matters
In simple terms
Speaking all tongues
He could find his way
To all hearts
I agree with victor Hugo and say
If you want to read the people's hearts
Learn their tongue
If you want to enter their hearts
Talk their tongue
If you want to be understood
Learn their tongue, bad and good
If you want to be loved
memorize their poems and proverbs
If you want to keep safe from the bad elements among them
Learn theirs Nouns and Verbs
Controle their language to see what they hide behind
It is a white weapon of self -defense,
Tongue is the key to the heart and the mind
