Ode To Victor Hugo (37) les Misérables children Are carefree Birds

Our life is too short in excess
That is because we think and talk
More of the past than of present, Yes
And beacuse we see more what the others possess
Than we ourselves possess
We watch them and plight to get access
To their plans, that is why we don't score a success
Yes our concentration on the past is useless
We live short for we've got a long memory
Too much longer than our own lives, and stress
Short memory can be the best to attain progress
If we only have got the memory of children, more or less
Yes, children have short memories, I confess
They are like birds, always jovial and merry, no distress
Living from one day to the next, and think of today with carelessness
And they only see what they themselves, not the other people, possess!
