You look through me with those judgmental eyes
Those eyes that hide surprise until you realize
I don't care if you stare 'cuz I'll just stare right back
I'll counter your attack as you lunge for my back
Who's got the upper hand? You're so smooth and cunning
Why's it me you're shunning? Look, see? Now who's running?
Run from me, or from you? Run away! Run away!
Why keep your bouquet when you knew you wouldn't stay?
At a disadvantage, I've no words of wisdom
I don't know where you're from, I can't get you to come
There is no hope for us, we have gone way too far
It's all become bizarre, we don't know who we are
And we can't get back there, to that place we once were
That time when we were sure, tell me you remember?
That was a time of dreams, of love, of hope, of trust
It seemed that we were thrust before we could adjust
Into that time of us. But all of that has changed,
It's all been rearranged, turned sullen and deranged
Oh! How I want you back! Back here where you belong
Back where our love was strong, should have been all along…
