Analysis of poem - Mewantha
=======================
The narrator speaks to the teachers in order for them
to understand their mistakes. She requests them to
teach the students with compassion. She asks the
teachers to
Add a spoonful of kindness
As thou teaches thy disciple
She reminds the teachers when they were young,
that they also was fond to hear a kind word or praise
given by their teachers. Even if the students are not
educated, the teacher must educate them all equally
and enrich the pupils with wisdom. The pupils are
empty shells. It is the responsibility of the teacher to
fill them with knowledge. Not all the children are bright,
if this was so, the world would be insane.
The pupils mind's are considered to be candles unlit
and the teacher should light them with wisdom.
The poet asks the teacher to love and care about each
and everyone of their children and understand everything
about them. Each pupil is unique and different in their
own ways. The wisdom that the students gain has no
price, but the if the teacher manages to win their hearts,
the students can show the price the teacher gave them.
