It was a Monday
When you came,
It will be a Monday,
When you vacate;
All of the days
Of desire, love, passion, sorrow,
Profound sadness, bitter annoyance,
Laugh, pain, cry and common feelings
Will be mere memories.
Monday after Monday will come by turns,
But nobody will find the Mondays
You gifted us.
How many rise and fall
You have seen,
It will be continuing
But you never can see.
Oh, year, you were the greatest opportunity
To the industrious,
And the opposite to the callous;
You were injured with human blood
That was a joy to some so called human beings,
You were scared with the screaming of the children
Going to face brutal death,
You were sad with the crying of hungry humanity.
You might be happy with the dreams
Glittering in the eyes of the poor school going boys,
Your joy might be in the science laboratories
Where better days are on processing,
Your profound contentment might be on the poets
Who sing for new days,
And to the optimistic doers.
O, year, you are not only year,
You are a great experience on which new days will be built up,
You have finished your journey of present times,
Now it is the time to enter into history
And enrich with your profound glory.
