(Everybody has to face the following moments one day or the other in his life. Without positivism about future, nobody can practically get over those emotional strides. The following poem illustrates this aspect. The poem is my dedication on the eve of the retirement of my father-in-law. He is a person having enough poesy in his heart and rich values about life. As a Divotional Poet he was regular contributor to the magazine 'Bhakthapriya' (Published by Guruvayur Temple Devaswom) . Date of composition 28/10/1991)

A memorable poem. A pure classic. There are several lines that touch the heights of poetic splender. This poem can be recited as a tribute at every retirement party.Wow! Words dont suffice to explain this great master piece.
It is really great to know that you have written this poem about your father in law, where many son in laws even refuse to respect them... i would first appreciate you for that. now coming to the poem, its really a tribute to a person so duty conscious and this poem can be dedicated to all people who are retiring and who were so dutiful.. nice work.. congrats.
It was a pleasent walk Along with you The pace was slow But soft and full of grace Sublime thoughts Of past and present Mingle to flow so smooth Your thoughts soared high The pleasent feeling No harsh words For the world The life ahead So eager you potrayed Your father-in-law With the longing to serve A heavenly employer Till the final retirement call! No positivism No pessimism Only realism we find In this your poetry, A grand tribute you have given To the excellant and dutiful person That we feel as if we know him too! Angel
This reminded me of my premature retirment from service at 49+. The poem is fit to be read as retirement anthem on farewel functions of retired employees in every office. Kudos.
This reminds me of my retirement day on 31-7-1989. Now it is almost 20 years. But I am more active in my retirement period. There may be retirement for a job but not for life, which is a continuous process. Till the last moment, we have to carry on the mission for which God sent us here. Your poem speaks of your respect and soft heart for your elders.
When everything is over poetry is the last lasting thing to give fulfilment in life; the experience gained and bliss of exposing the best things by poems many gives real joy which is beyond all joys one can get life! A unique experience to be enjoyed he feels the bliss sure forever! Nice to read!
it is one of the best writes, i have come across, beautifully written with lots of feelings.your father in-law will be proud of you.yes, he has taken the right option to write and do all the things, he could not while he was working.thanks for sharing this.
His soul may rest in peace after the condolences and hearty tribute you offered as a courtesy which many son-in-laws refute owing to financial tie-ups and in india still the dowry system reigning the supreme in myriad cases.....as a culture shock...10 from me Ray
