October 1st Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

October 1st

People who are mostly underrated
Today, the older folks get appreciated

Remember those to rocking chairs taken
Think of those whose bones are achin'-

Grandpa who never fails to come through
When others are not so convinced by you

Grandma who hugs you too often it seems
Urged you on to accomplish your dreams

Even if you are fast approaching that age
When you are getting set in your ways

Take a moment, today, to give out a shout
To the generation who has figured it out.
