O rain please fall softly upon
the land where beneath she is
Sleeping in peace;
Gently tap the earth above her,
give her your soothing music,
to her lips softly kiss;
O rain don't shout aloud when
you fall and don't wake up her
with your noise;
She is too tired weeping for the
loss of our love and our worldly
sorrows and joys.
