O Flashy Flashy Big Stars Poem by Sheeya Hacks

O Flashy Flashy Big Stars

Rating: 5.0

Oh flashy flashy big stars,
making statements like they're czars,
with their glitz and glamor,
they think they're raising a banner,
but what about the crises,
the world is in such a mess it squeezes,
crying babies, hungry and scared,
their voices unheard, no one cared.

How they parade on the red carpet,
While people in poverty are apart,
their designer gowns and lavish jewels,
are just tools for their ego's fuel,
they claim to care about the world,
but only when their image is unfurled,
In front of cameras and flashing lights,
they love to bask in the limelight.

But when they're offstage and out of sight,
they forget about the world's plight,
they go back to their luxurious lives,
leaving the crises to thrive.
Oh flashy flashy big stars,
you think you're making change from afar,
but your shallow gestures and flashy shows,
only highlight your ignorance and shallow lows.

While you're busy making statements,
the world is facing real predicaments,
crying babies in war-torn lands,
need more than your empty handshakes and demands.

Fantastic poem! Sadly, entitlement seems to exclude any notion of obligation.

Great write, I agree with you. The distance between rich and poor is very far.
