O Dear Mma
So much life flowed through your veins
So much energy who could contain
Vivacious you were in youth and with age
You knew that life is lived just once
And every moment you took with relish
Enjoying every moment until you perish
So you said and so you thought
O Dear Mma
Who could have imagined you would be cut short
As far as I know you there was more for you to glow
With your child, your grand and great-grand children untold
How I wish you would have stayed much longer
And smiled with me just for more; a day
But you did at every moment you had
However the tears dropped from your eyelids
You never failed to keep the smile on your lips
O Dear Mma
I hate to see you go
Though I am happy you are finally at rest
Yes I do know you sleep and rest
And so you laid your head in wait
Every day until your last
O Dear Mma
How I wish you just stayed
To finish with me what we shared
O how I wish I had more time
Even though you knew
There was none anymore
O Dear Mma,
I loved the way you called me
Your Adiah-Adiah and treated me as such
Despite our differences
I saw we had much in common than I knew we had
I was your joy and you were my pride
My only grandmother left alive
Alas you are gone
And now there is none
How could I have known
You would soon be gone
O Dear Mma!
Sleep and rest and be at peace
For that is what you deserve
Only just the best and now you have
More than you ever dreamt
For I do know for certain
You are with the Lord
For He lived in your heart
When you accepted Jesus
Now you live with Him
What more can you ask for
O Dear Mma!
