Snowflakes create mosaics of moonlace.
They paint fantastic shadows on the glass.
A word or two accents the falling day.
Dusk flickers like a magic picture light.

Like the image I get with the first stanza-very pretty-the word or two-in my state, might not be pretty though ;) ...very lovely poem.

Crystal-clear images of November, and a moving tribute to a great orator and public servant. Senator Byrd is the conscience of the Senate, as November is the conscience of the year, bringing back the bare bones of nature and humankind. Some public servants, like some autumn friends, are irreplaceable.

Sandra, Alison's comment really sums up my enjoyment of this lovely poem. I did not know your Senator was fond of poetry, he must be close in age to Methusela? Brilliant as usual Love Bobx

You've done it again. I guess that's the wonder of the creative spirit - not to mention an abiding love of the English language. Your Novemberness is superb. You share your Senator with grace and skill. I particularly enjoyed your 'mood is older than Methusela' and the alliteration that you have sprinkled generously over this glorious poem. Love, Alison ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I admire the so-evocative images in the first paragraph. It makes me remember snowy days in other places where I have lived. Senator Byrd has a great tribute from you in this. Val

Sandra, In keeping with your style this is another great poem! To make your poem better understood by all your readers, I would like to add that Methuselah was the oldest man as per the book of Genesis; lived upto 969yrs! Robert Byrd, born in 1917, US Senator from W.Virginia - the longest serving US Senator in Senate history! Thank for sharing this beautiful poem! - Raj
