Notice Pain? Poem by Jodie Louise Pollock

Notice Pain?

Rating: 5.0

The goose-bumps cover my body,
Cold, so cold...
My chest aches with the ice,
Empty, so so empty...

It’s hard to breathe,
It’s hard to think,
I’m inside my mind,
Confused, aching, deep, lost.
Sinking under the pressure,
Under the pain,
Under the life.

The blame lands on me,
I feel it hurt,
The blame is all mine,
I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong; I’m not a nasty person.

But the pain they give me,
Is sore, and increasing,
My body’s screaming in silent agony,
My heart losing itself, its soul.

And still, they haven’t noticed.
