Nothing Will Cross… Poem by Stephen Omolori

Nothing Will Cross…

For you only, even if Poseidon troubles the sea,
I'll sail back like birds soaring with ease in the sky.
A grieving heart is the catalyst for eyes that cry,
Especially when the pain stings the heart like a bee.
You watered my heart, then it blossomed to a tree,
Even when I thought it would wither and dry.
When other people's matrimony wither and die,
We should make ours spirited like a bird set free.

Every man on earth deserves a Penelope,
But how many would give being faithful a try?
Though Circe and Calypso may attempt to seduce me,
Like they did to the lost king in Odyssey,
I'll be blind to them like a Cyclops with a broken eye.
Nothing will cross this promise that I make to thee.
