I love this poem it reminds me of my childhood and how precious my family were to me. They've now passed away and I'm a middle aged with nothing but pain in my life.
Since Eden we face decay but still beauty remains. Gold will not stay when it is underappreciated.

Gold's definition is it lasts for endless times, even centuries will pass, the gold is still there, but Robert Frost means here Not one thing lasts, even gold. He uses metaphors here, crystal clear!
