Not Today Poem by Esther Hadassah Sendeza

Today I choose to concentrate on my growth.
I choose to water myself up,
And to applaud myself on how far I have come.
Today I choose to see the light,
I choose to shut the negative voices out,
I choose to see the positive,
The progress,
The movement.

Today I don't want to wallow in worry,
I dont want to beat myself up,
Or blame myself for my past mistakes.
I will not sit here and count my scars.

All my life experiences brought me here,
Good or bad, they still made me.
So today I won't focus on the scars,
I choose to keep growing instead.
I choose to heal,
To have more faith in my potential,
And focus on all the beauty I am flourishing into.
