Not So Poem by Mary Champion

Not So

Not so tall and not so dark
And not so very handsome;
Well not so much as perfect would imply.
But technically
It seems to me
You're well worth a King's ransom
And I'd be good
If you would be my guy.

Not so much a gallant knight
And not so superhuman;
Not so much as fairytales have told.
But then again, I'm not so much a lady as a woman,
And you are worth the whole world's weight in gold.

Not so macho,
Not so Rambo,
Not so Casanova
Not so Romeo or roaming-eyed.
Not so much Adonis, but when all the fighting's over,
There's no one fits so snugly at my side.

Not so good, but not so bad as your worst reputation;
Not so much a hero as you dream.
But it's sure I'm not so pure as your imagination
Has overworked and sometimes made me seem.

Not so tall and not so dark and not so much Prince Charming,
And never tough enough to salve your pride.
But war can cease, your pretty please is simply so disarming
I never could resist you of I tried.

Not so macho,
Not so Rambo,
Not so Casanova
Not so Romeo or roaming-eyed.
Not so much Adonis, but when all the fighting's over,
There's no one fits so snugly at my side.
