Not given thought

Even though with dark skin
I was very much keen
To have you in life forever
But it happened never

You came closer
But drifted later
Bringing all pain agony
To be borne by me

Yet I carried an impression
You were nice and I was in depression
For not having in real life
As it proved tough edge of knife

I have no regret
But let
It be known
The drawbacks are of my own

I should have not given any thought
For color, race and sought
Some explanation about adjustment
It ended in bitter comments

Life has peculiar way
You got to adjust in different way
Let some of your wishes fade away
And with not comfortable feelings, you got to stay
