The aroma Of my by-gone days Hangs in the air. Beautifully said, alas, for the too old like me even the memories are on the fade.

Nostalgia of Raja Festival, the cheer, the fun, eating Poda Pitha, chewing Pan, Playing kabadi, puchi and relishing the great festival of togetherness and merriment is unforgettable! It’s feel during the childhood is something special that the poetess reminds ….”I look, with tears in my eyes/where I left/my childhood, my friends”. An excellent piece of work dear madam! The poem is adorable and appreciated! !

Your prose comment enhances the poem. I re-read the poem after reading that background and it enriched the experience. This is a blessed holiday and I'm glad to see one of the World Religions acknowledges women, their sociability, their need to relax and relieve stress. In fact, some women, hardworking and sacrificing, might wish they could have such a festival for their mature years when their responsibilities are so exhausting. Your description of ceremony is vivid and immediate. I could share in the sights and sounds and the fragrances linger!

Reading the poet's note, I understand that Raja festival is something everyone would look forward to, especially by unmarried girls who enjoy special privileges during this festive season. Colourfully clad with colourful dreams inside, I know how hilarious the girls must be on swings..... Yes, now when we look back, we can only think of those beautiful times with a sense of nostalgia and a sense of loss!
