Its a very touching poem. World War II even drew people from as far Southern Africa. In the Harare Gardens Park there is plaque written in vernacular Shona " Takagwa takafira mambo wedu" translated to " We fought and died for our King" . We were a colony then. So yes, even me i wonder if i ever heard of D-Day. No, not me! Great poem.
