Yes, 'None can own the skies! '. You've so beautifully laid out our simple thoughts in this poem through the analogy of kite flying! 'with all the claims and cares in the estate of God we all have our due shares! ' - How thoughtfully you have spoken of our rights in the 'Estate Of God', a beautiful end to a beautiful poem. I must say here, I liked most of the readers' comments posted on your poem.

Well penned. For the time being US owns the skies of Afghanistan and Pakistan. They bought it dunno for how much costs. The other skies are preparing to beat falcons because China, Iran and Russia does not want any more Pakistan from their lands. They learned Indian and Soviet lessons through times and also thorugh Iraq-Irans islamic brotherhood of 1980-88 that killed 2,5 million Iranians itself from western supplies to Iraq.

We can fly free if we choose it so, and never fall for worldly messages which want to pull us down.

Beautiful poem Shahzia. I like to watch kite flying. As you said Sky is not owned by anyone, any one can fly kite as long as they want and as much as higher they want. Everyone has their shares in estate of God. Controlling kite lies not in strength of thread but our presence of mind control it very well. Same we can compare to our life. Poem has indepth meaning and I loved reading it....

You are right nobody owns the sky, that goes for everything, because we are all the children of the Creator and nobody is better then the other.

Well said Shahzia! But why do we seek to Own anything? We are all guilty I would guess of wanting to, but why? We find love in a person, not to own them but to learn and indulge in what they share with us, we have children that we nurture and we hope will flourish in their own way, not to own. The same with chattels, its only in passing we 'own' as with art (of any kind) , houses, land, countries, not to own but borrow for a while.

A lovely meaningful poem about the limitations and rights, illustrating the truth citing fingers, kite & sky. Though it doesn't relate you may read my One world with one race & give your feelings

Strength is not in thread In our fingers' hold hope can always last to fight with evil vile For a kite runner, this is so true! In one sense, we are all kite runners! Much depends upon the wind and also on our firm hold! ! Very meaningful Shahzia! !

As my kite struggles to fly in their sky I watch your kite with stronger thread flying high in your sky, I begin to wonder where the boundaries have been drawn And my kite looks up to your kite and skies With all solace for a phase yet to emerge...... Your version is right Shahziaji, And let this optimism descend on me too.
