Nobody Is Drawing Wine From This Blood Poem by Paula Glynn

Nobody Is Drawing Wine From This Blood

Nobody is drawing wine from this blood
Nobody is going to steal my love

I am in a room all alone here
Yet I have no boundaries, hold no fear

I start the inner fire
I create your all consuming desire

No vampire feeds from this neck
I always know what comes next

I know the future and the past
I know the present moment

I am nobody's victim
I am never left drained

My blood never turned into red wine
Where people celebrate as they dine

But no one celebrates me:
To my mind only I hold the key

I create pure unadulterated gold
But never turn into unmoving statue

I wander the four corners of the world
And leave every stone unturned

I look to Mother Earth for protection
Never relying on winning an election

I don't need power and control:
I don't need to be a president

Simply said, only I hold the key
To my mind, body and soul: only me.
