No, We Are Neither In Jail, Nor In Hell Poem by Hebert Logerie

No, We Are Neither In Jail, Nor In Hell

No guards armed with deadly weapons are hovering over us
Except that we must watch COVID-19 Coronavirus
This is not a usual game
I don't know which one is the last name
Yes, I am pretty sure and certain
That we are not in the dungeon, in jail
We are simply isolated, in quarantine
A special war, a third world war like hell
Is freaking going on. This one is odd.Coronavirus
Is sneaky and coming like an invisible cloud
He, she or it is attacking like a thief, not aloud
Like terrorists shooting indiscriminately at the terminus
Coronavirus is creating or has created a lot of troubles:
Killing men, women and babies, closing churches and schools
Causing the stock markets to fall and tumble like fools
And unemployment rate to rise like missiles or lost bubbles
Our favorite stores, casinos, movie theaters, hotels
Restaurants, boutiques, stadiums, libraries and motels
They are all closed, shut, shocked. Coronavirus is coming
When? Nobody knows. We must wash our darn hands
And be ready to fight the invisible devil, which lands
As he or she pleases anywhere. Coronavirus is destroying
Our way of life, erasing generations, burning and changing
Traditions and the beauty of our past. Coronavirus means business
Thank God, the birds are chirping, the air is served as a witness
And there's hope. We can still hope, aspire and dream of better days
Because humanity will fight all enemies by inventing up new plays.
