No Summer Clothes When Winter Comes Poem by Dorsey Baker

No Summer Clothes When Winter Comes

Rating: 5.0

Why does the wind
wait until winter
before it unclothe
the trees
and the ground
stops the grass
from its growth?
and not many birds
until snowfall comes
Night comes
and the heavy
weight of darkness
and as bitter
as the winter weather
loneliness can be
Winter can be dangerous
to a lonesome mind
but thank God
spring comes
just in time!
