This reminds me of a mini-poem in modern style by Mr. Yan Li. Translated into English it goes something like this: THE BROKEN BRIDGE IN THE PAINTING ON THE WALL/ PROVES THAT HISTORY SINCE THEN/ HAD TO SWIM ACROSS THE WATER.
Another one on bridges goes like this: SINCE YOU HAVE ALREADY CROSSED THE RIVER/ WHY TIRE YOURSELF OUT/ BY TURNING AROUND TO DISMANTLE THE BRIDGE? / SEEING THIS KIND OF HUMAN EXERTION/ MY PHYSIQUE HAS AN ATTACK OF ENNUI
