No Room For Nostalgia Poem by Raj Dronamraju

No Room For Nostalgia

Rating: 3.5

I hate the good old days
I hate all this talk about the good old days
Ahead are the best days
As we get smarter and fitter and more alert

But let's ignore all that
And talk about the times when we had no money, no friends, and were miserable
As if they were glorious

Five years from now, I will be happier than I am now
Five years ago, I wasn't as happy as I am now
Twenty years ago, I wished I was dead
Under no circumstance would I want to revisit or celebrate these times

What I produce and give to others
Is healthier, higher quality
And what I give the world
Is better behavior imbued with hope
