No Reprieve Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

No Reprieve

My heart
Wants to speak
Why my mind
so numb.
Voice weak

All around
Waves
of heat
Undercurrents
Indiscreet

highly strung
Is this rope
As I travel
One way street

I am
blinded
By strong
Sun
Away from
Darkness
I still run

These roots
Of hurts
Do run deep
Still so
Hard
For me
To weep

For too long
My cries
Have Been
Quietened
And I found
No reprieve
